It’s Our Favorite Time of Year: Pumpkin Pleasantry

A Worthwhile Pumpkin Pause in the PB Vacation

Last Blog Entry: (https://reflectionsbykj.com/the-pb-in-the-peanut-butter-sandwich-vacation-prince-edward-island/)

My dedicated readers, I just had to pause the PB Vacation to share some pumpkin pleasantry with all of you. As a self-proclaimed fall enthusiast, I absolutely love everything autumn has to offer. From the crisp, cool air to freshly picked apples and hayrides, this time of year brings nothing but cozy vibes flowing through your veins. Yes, even in the National Capital Region, autumn fever is striking again.

Pumpkin Pleasantry Places

For hayrides and family fun, it’s worth checking out the famous Cox Farms (https://coxfarmsva.com) or travel a little further to pick some apples at Marker-Miller Orchards Farm and Market (https://markermillerorchards.com). For an even quicker and easier adventure, why not stroll through the supermarket aisles to discover all the new pumpkin, maple, caramel, and apple-flavored products that have been released this year? My recent supermarket stroll is what prompted my pause in the PB Vacation.

For those who love pumpkin-flavored products, I have two new favorites I purchased this week and just happened to taste today. If you adore pumpkin, these next two items are a must-have that you should order immediately. First up, Sweet Loren’s ready-to-bake vegan Pumpkin Spice cookies (https://sweetlorens.com/products/pumpkin-spice-pre-cut-dough) are an absolute must-try. If baked correctly, these cookies are almost better than your grandma’s homemade, albeit unhealthy, treats—but they’re not unhealthy at all! They are downright irresistible; you’ll find yourself needing to walk away from the tray or risk eating them all in less than five minutes. Amazing for ready-to-bake and vegan!

The second pumpkin showstopper arrived earlier today. I’m a bagel girl through and through, and nothing pleases me more than a tasty cream cheese. For reference, my go-to cream cheese is strawberry flavored—until today, that is. A little tub of pumpkin pleasantry jumped onto my bagel, and I can’t recommend Melanie’s Medleys Pumpkin Pie Cream Cheese Spread (https://melaniesmedleys.com) enough. This spread is literally a little piece of heaven you’ll never forget, and you should rush to the supermarket to stock up.  It’s wonderful on bagels of course, but also just as appealing on sliced apples. The Melanie’s Medley’s website even has a recipe for pumpkin pie cheesecake using the namesake cream cheese and definitely something I’ll be looking to try my hands at making one day.

For just over $10, you can have both delightful fall foodie items in your refrigerator, ready to enjoy. In my opinion, both will only amplify the fall fever that’s currently sweeping through your life. Don’t shy away from it; jump on this bandwagon and follow it as fast as you can!

One last reflection and recommendation for the day: do yourself a major favor beyond the two foodie items listed above. Lace up your shoes and take an early morning or early evening stroll around your neighborhood. The crisp air will get your creative juices flowing, and the cool breeze will awaken your senses, while the fallen leaves crunching under your feet will allow you to fully enjoy all that the world has to offer right now. Fall is a time to reflect, appreciate, and savor the coziness that is stirring within and around you. Bring along a friend and follow up your friendly walk with one last recommendation: a trip to Starbucks to try their Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte (https://stories.starbucks.com/stories/2024/meet-fall-new-flavor-starbucks-pecan-crunch-oatmilk-latte). In my opinion, it’s another autumn-flavored home run!

Friends, don’t let this time of year escape you. There is too much goodness all around you right now. Enjoy and check out https://www.kjreflectionsstudio.com for more autumn and pumpkin pleasantry photos.
